Our philosophy is simple. Train hard, train right, get results. Being "capable" is paramount and you have the right to take charge of that. We are not duped by the appearance of a "fit" body and neither are you. That's fools gold. Real training is about getting your body in the most optimum condition without injury. We want to get you there.
Train right. Train hard. Get results. Being “capable” is paramount and you have the right to take charge of that. We are not duped by the appearance of a “fit” body and neither are you. That’s fool’s gold. Real training is about getting your body in the most optimum condition without injury. We want to get you there.
Our workouts are designed for those committed to a consistent fitness regimen or for someone who wants to start one. You have to work hard to get results. The INFLICT training method is not about "pumping, sculpting, and toning." It's about training hundreds of movement patterns that prepare you for any activity from basic to extreme.
People have become sedentary. Even if you train seven days a week for 1 hour, you are still sedentary. Our ancestors were hunters and gathers. They moved constantly, all day lubricating their joints with synovial fluid. They could not afford to get injured. It was survival of the “fittest.”
We sit at our desks and watch “YouTube.” During that time we’ve stopped lubricating our joints. We punch out and hit the gym hard to make up for it. The result? Our hips lose mobility and consequently our knees and low back get the beating of a lifetime. It must stop.
A focused group whose intent is to work hard because they are results driven. They don’t need their arms twisted to get to the gym. They love the feeling they get when they’ve put it on the line for an hour and ten minutes.
INFLICT workouts are a combination of strength, endurance, and everything in between. They are designed to train your whole body. Completing the workouts gives you well rounded, balanced results. They follow our philosophy to the nth degree. They are NOT a walk in the park, BUT are designed for safety. We use full body movements, moderate jump training, sports specific movements, core training, endurance and strength training. We didn’t forget some body part training either – for the beach.
On the Technical side – We’ve done extensive work with Doctors and Physical Therapists. Our goal is to help bridge the gap between Physical Therapy and Training.
Imbalances in movement patterns are called asymmetries (e.g. better balance on one side). Asymmetries lead to injury. We design our workouts using balanced movement patterns in an attempt to correct and prevent these asymmetries. You’ll see these patterns happen either in a squat, staggered, or one legged stance. Real life and sport follow this foot positioning and so do your workouts. It promotes healthy hip and joint function.

Two years ago CEO Craig Donen was faced with a challenge. How can he better manage his time in order to give his clients what they deserve, top notch workouts that will maximize their time and produce the results they need? If he wanted to make it in Santa Barbara this gym owner and full time trainer knew something had to give. Then, the epiphany, clients are visual learners.
So he put down the clipboard and took the workouts he wrote – those he knew would get clients to the highest level of fitness – and produced video workouts using the highest level of detail (high def, floating imagery), the best models (us), and the most grueling exercises in order to make the client full body strong. All with ZERO cheese factor. Introducing INFLICT TRAINING.
The workouts had to be progressive with a start and end point. Craig started with 10, which quickly became 25, then 50. He began hosting them on two huge flat panel monitors in his gym and used them exclusively to train his clientele. It didn’t take long for the rest of the trainers to see the value. Soon, we were all using them for our clients and ourselves.
The clients love using them. They see the start and end of the workout which makes it easier to budget their time and intensity. The workouts are tough, but manageable. Modifications for folks with issues (bad shoulders, backs, knees, etc) come easily and on the fly while using “the screens.”
Soon, the buzz around Santa Barbara became, “Want a kick-butt workout? Go to Craig D’s gym and do ‘screen’ training.” After launching in the gym we saw an almost immediate spike up in volume for both training clients as well as general members.
Then, a funny thing happened. Clients began asking where their friends were in the series. If a friend completed the next workout in the series they wanted to do what it took to catch up, even if it meant training three times a week. It quickly became a sort of positive feedback cycle. They’re trying to outdo each other, so they’re working out more often. They’re working out more often, so they need to maintenance their bodies more. The workouts are getting progressively harder, but their bodies feel good so they’re ready for them. The outcome? They all hit and surpassed their fitness goals. Read some of their accounts in the testimonials.
Craig and I are stoked to bring you the very same tried and tested workouts that have made our gym a success and our clients the strongest they’ve ever been. Our website is designed and patterned with purpose. “The Empire” is the catalyst. Folks across the nation are checking in every day to update their profiles with “completed” workouts and checking out the progress of others, just like they did here in SB.
We’re hoping you enjoy them as much as we do. Welcome to INFLICT TRAINING. We’re happy to have you.
